Speakerbox Bangkok August 2026 Live Music Guide

POLYNOMIAL opens the highlighted August run at Speakerbox.

Speakerbox remains one of Bangkok’s most useful rooms for discovering independent bands before they reach larger stages. The venue is in Thonglor at 1000/39 Sukhumvit Soi 55, and its August 2026 calendar moves quickly across rock, pop and experimental bills. Rather than choosing by genre label alone, open the current event page and listen to one track from each act on a shared bill.

The early run includes POLYNOMIAL on 5 August, UNREAL with alittlebirdtoldme and Man in Pharmacy on 6 August, ROCKTHEBOX Flashback Friday on 7 August and POP Session on 8 August. Later listings include Along the Diluted Reality on 9 August, another multi-band night on 12 August, Earsoncloud on 13 August, and Speedway with Feels Like Heaven on 22 August. Times and ticket arrangements should be reconfirmed.

How The Venue Works

Speakerbox expanded in 2025 and now describes a front Speakeasy area for smaller gatherings and a larger Live Room for full-band shows. That gives the venue flexibility, but it also means two visits can feel very different. Check which room hosts your event, whether seating exists and whether the ticket includes access to both spaces. A sold-out Live Room will feel busier than an informal front-bar set.

The First Week

The 5 to 9 August sequence is strong for visitors who want several options in one trip. POLYNOMIAL begins at 8pm on Wednesday. Thursday’s three-act bill is listed from 7.30pm, followed by ROCKTHEBOX at 8pm on Friday, POP Session at 8pm on Saturday and Along the Diluted Reality at 8pm on Sunday. Treat published starts as event times, not a promise that every band begins immediately.

Later In August

A 12 August bill brings Sons, Paganism, The House of Saturn and Acid Gas Turtles together from 7.30pm. Earsoncloud follows on 13 August at 8pm. On 22 August, Speedway and Feels Like Heaven are listed from 6pm. The programme may gain new shows, so check the venue calendar and social channels during the week of your visit rather than relying on an old screenshot.

Tickets And Entry

Some Speakerbox nights are ticketed in advance, while others use door sales or event-specific links. Read the individual listing for price, age condition and payment route. Buy only through the venue or named organiser. Save the confirmation offline because mobile reception can be unreliable in a crowded room. If the show is important, arrive before the first act rather than gambling on door capacity.

Protect Your Hearing

A small live room can produce high sound levels even when you stand away from the speakers. Carry proper music earplugs, take breaks and avoid leaning against the stage monitors. If your ears ring after the show, give them quiet time. People with sensory sensitivity should ask about lighting, smoke effects and expected crowding before buying a ticket. The best position is the one that lets you enjoy the set without discomfort.

Getting Home

Thonglor BTS is not beside the venue, and Soi 55 traffic can be slow. Use a motorcycle taxi only if you are comfortable with the risk and a proper helmet is available. Otherwise allow time for a car to reach the venue after the show. Speakerbox lists operating hours from 5pm to 1am, Tuesday to Sunday, but your event may end earlier. Plan the return before drinking.

Support The Scene

Arrive for the opening act, buy merchandise directly and follow artists you enjoyed. Independent multi-band bills work when audiences listen beyond the name they already know. Keep conversation low during quiet sets, do not block sightlines with continuous filming and ask before photographing performers at close range. A short clip is enough; the person behind you also paid to see the stage. Tip bar staff when service warrants it, return reusable cups where directed and leave the room between sets only when movement will not disrupt a performance. The small choices help the venue remain welcoming to artists and audiences.
