When ICONSIAM opened on 9 November 2018 with a ฿54-billion investment—approximately US$1.5 billion—it didn’t just add another shopping mall to Bangkok. It created an entirely new category: a riverside luxury destination that merges world-class retail, Thai cultural immersion, and architectural spectacle into a single, staggering complex on the banks of the Chao Phraya. In 2025 and 2026 alone, 51 global and leading Thai brands committed to opening flagship stores or new retail concepts here, representing a combined investment exceeding ฿1.5 billion.
ICONLUXE: The Luxury Floor
The ICONLUXE zone is Bangkok’s most concentrated collection of luxury retail. Under a ceiling decorated with genuine gold leaf, you’ll find Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Dior, Cartier, Bvlgari, Tiffany & Co., Fendi, Moncler, and Brunello Cucinelli—along with dozens of other heritage and contemporary luxury houses. The majority of the 51 new brands entering in 2025–2026 chose ICONSIAM for their first Thai store, making this the primary destination for luxury retail debuts in Southeast Asia.
SookSiam: The Indoor Floating Market
On the ground floor, SookSiam transforms the traditional Thai floating market into a vast indoor experience showcasing arts, culture, tradition, food, and lifestyle from all 77 of Thailand’s provinces across seven themed zones. Over 3,000 local businesses are represented—from regional Thai cuisine (pad thai, roti, curries) to artisan handicrafts. The vendors maintain traditional preparation methods, making this far more than a food court: it’s an immersive cultural journey through the kingdom’s culinary and artistic diversity. Stationary vendor boats create the floating-market aesthetic, and the quality of food—particularly the regional specialities unavailable elsewhere in Bangkok—is genuinely excellent.
River Access
ICONSIAM’s Chao Phraya location is served by five piers. Shuttle boats from Sathorn Pier (connected to BTS Saphan Taksin) run from 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily for just ฿8, taking roughly ten minutes. Additional services run from Si Phraya Pier. The river approach is itself an experience—arriving by boat, with the complex’s facade reflecting off the water, creates a sense of arrival that no car park can match.
Dining and Entertainment
Beyond SookSiam, ICONSIAM houses over 100 world-famous restaurants, including Michelin-starred options. The River Park—a community space on the riverbank—hosts events and cultural performances. The ICONIC Multimedia Water Features include the longest falling fountain in Southeast Asia, with 15-minute water-light-laser shows that draw crowds every evening.
